Exceed Yourself To Find Your Exceeding Self

Exceed Yourself To Find Your Exceeding Self

What would be possible if you step off the edge in every aspects of your Life?

Forget the fears, the buts, and what ifs? What would be possible?

Write it down.

And considering what's possible, what is stopping from stepping off the edge?

When we are at our edge, our old stories will come in and tell us not to leap off.

The general feeling is if we back off - it’s bad; we are weak, we are not good enough. So what's the point right? Then again, we've not tried it, how do we know.

We don't know, so why not, take one foot off and see what comes up.

This week we explore what it means to exceed ourselves in order to find our exceeding self which is the 4th principle of the Eight Universal Principles for Stepping up to the Edge by Baron Baptiste taken from his book -“Journey into Power”.)

The learning here is to be ok with the decision not to step over the edge, and instead stay with whatever is coming up and surrender with easefulness.

And if you do step off the edge, can you move forward without brute force but with kind determination.

The real reason why people are mean and Unkind

The real reason why people are mean and Unkind

When we have no happiness within, we have no happiness to give others

- Ajahn brahm

This post was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend of mine. We were talking about why people have an opinion on everything and then it came down to us discovering a simple truth of why people can be so unkind and mean - you know who they are. Could be the people that you hang out with. Could be your colleagues, your family.

You wonder why they do the things they do, why they say what they say.

The truth is they are not nice because they are not happy.

And the reality is we can't make them change unless they are willing and ready to change. But we can change the words we say to ourselves because our words make our world. Kindness starts with You.

One Simple Way to Say I Love You Without Saying I Love You

One Simple Way to Say I Love You Without Saying I Love You

Let me ask you -

Is there someone in your life that for some reason or another, you have difficulty saying "I love you" to them? And you want to. But the words just refuse to come out of your lips.

The situation has gone unchecked and the unhappiness has festered for so long, you just don't know how to change it. If it's possible to change? That it won't change? Actions don't work anymore.

This week I want to share with you my deepest darkest secret.

I... used to have difficulty saying these 3 words.

I can throw them out with the best of them - to my husband, to my close friends. But the one person, or group of persons that I really want to say it to - were my sisters.

It won't mean much if I can't even say it or show my love to my flesh and blood.

What has it this got to do with Baptiste Yoga? Well I stumbled upon this gem of a Ted talk video after my Level 1, and that changed my life.

Not over night. But I see it for the better good today.

And I want to give it back.

It's simple.

It starts with a ……………….

What Is Possible If Your Husband Is Also Your Best Friend

What Is Possible If Your Husband Is Also Your Best Friend

I suspect my husband is a secret wife whisperer. He started saying these 5 words of "You are my best friend" constantly till it has almost an equal power to saying "I love you".

And I love him more for having me look at our relationship in a new way.  And inspiring me to write this post.
