The beauty of yoga is that it can be adapted to suit the needs to every body and to any bodies. All that is needed is an open mind and a willingness to explore your body. Yoga is more than the Asanas (physical aspect); there is Meditation (using breath as a guide) and Inquiry (practice of being curious and in self-discovery). With time and patience, yoga will provide you with a greater sense of well-being, which extends beyond your mat.

At the moment I do not have a regular basics class, but my classes are open for all levels, and there’s saying in Baptiste Yoga, for you “to come as you are and not what you think you should be.”

The truth is we are all unique and we have our own skeletal variations, so we are not expected to look the same. And every time we come to the mat, our bodies will be and feel different.

With the current COVID-19 situation, Zoom classes are the new norm if you want to take a LIVE class with your teacher.

There’s much to say about the convenience of practising and teaching from home, and of course it cannot replace 40 degrees hot yoga rooms or the human touch.

For right now, this is our world.

If you are new, give yourself time to learn the practice and the poses. Power Yoga is an intuitive practice, which means you are welcome to adapt poses and/or take a short break in Child’s Pose. We ask that you listen to your body.

And please if you have any injuries or skeletal issues, please check with a medical professional before doing any physical movements.

If you would like more support, I offer online PRIVATE YOGA CLASSES To enquire about private class availability, please email hello@sophiexsanders.com

  1. Download the Zoom app on your phone/laptop

  2. Set up your yoga space. It doesn’t have to be fancy or have plants or candles, just enough space for your mat.

  3. Wear comfortable clothing that will allow you room to move around without discomfort. (sometimes I do wear my pajamas to class)

  4. Try not to drink or eat too much an hour and a half before class starts. Coming to class with an empty bladder and bowels always helps!

  5. You’re going to sweat, so bring a towel and bring a water bottle. (It is important to stay hydrated.)

  1. Advanced Registration is Required. Every month, the updated Registration links will be available on sophiexsanders.com/sophies-world

  2. Please come 5-10 mins early so you can ask questions, say hello, test your ZOOM audio and video connection or get guidance on setting up your home studio space.

  3. If you are shy or anxious about being seen, you can switch off the video function.

  4. I will not be doing any demos - however if there are new students in class, I will get one of the more experienced students to be a “SPOTLIGHT” body to follow in class.

  5. Please MUTE yourself when class is ongoing so as to reduce feedback.

  6. Most of the classes will be recorded, and the unlisted Youtube link will be emailed ONLY to the attendees of the class.
