Time for a Mid-Year Check-up

Can you believe we are in June? Half the year has gone past so fast!!!

I’ve always written down new year resolutions every year for example; "Save money, Take refresher driving lesson, Shop less, Exercise more, Go travelling etc."

And I’ve to confess that........

I’m guilty. Guilty of going through life aimlessly. Writing those same resolutions/goals every single year. Thought they were good goals to have but I have to admit now that they are pretty superficial. They either they don’t get done or I don’t finish the work!

I had a goal to lose weight too, but if I worked out too hard, my ass gets bigger, then I’d have to have a different goal to streamline my ass! 😛

Ass-jokes aside - I never truly understood what it meant to have a goal to work towards except when it comes to money, because money is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound. (aka the #SMARTgoal ). I have had saving goals, for when I saved up to pay off my loan and the purchase of my 1st flat, and I was successful at those goals.

But the rest.....,mmm..... What I had perhaps was INTENTION! But Baron (Baptiste) says:

“Intention without action is useless.”

So no wonder lar,  why my resolutions never gets done and gets carried forward to the next year, and the year after and so forth.

2017 is a little bit different, because I learnt to make Non-Financial Non-SMART goals that were previously thought to be way off the bat, but now I know that they are possible if I come from a place of “anything is possible.”

Remember the blog post I wrote in the beginning of the year, when I was "stuck", and I did a #BrainDump to "unstuck" myself? And thus created my 2017 List of Dreams.........

Re-reading the list- I’ve done good! *patmyselfontheback

Fear stops me from doing a lot of things, from going for what I want. But I’m learning to face fear with a lot of heart. I learnt that as long as I’m a Yes to giving up my fears, I will know what to say and how to do what I needed to do.

If you genuinely believe in something, nothing can stand in your way.

There’s times when I’ve wavered, and I have self-doubts, but when I remind myself of my WHY, I refocused my energy to what’s ahead and re-align myself with my goals. It's also good that I have people supporting me - I'm lucky and truly grateful.

Ironically my non-SMART goals are NOT smart, because I’m not making any money from doing them. Yet. 😃But for now, I want to be of service, I want to help people through my teachings and my writings, and I who knows what’s going to happen in the future.

So yes, my 1st half of the year, has been awesome!

So how are you doing so far with your goals or dreams?

If it’s not moving at all, perhaps ask yourself if its specific enough and what will happen if you don’t do it? What’s the costs and what are the benefits?

And ask yourself if anything is possible, if you will not fail, what would you do next week? Next 6 months? Next year? Next 5 years?

Journal them down. If you like to share, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
